Panama Hats

It has become customary to see people selling all kind of merchandise through out the Panama City’s Casco Antiguo. You can find many different things, from native art crafts to more traditional objects. Despite sharing the name with the country, the Panama hats are from Ecuador. These were on display a few weeks ago on a sidewalk.
Es ya costumbre encontrar vendedores de todo tipo de mercancías en el Casco Antiguo de la Ciudad de Panamá. Puedes encontrar diferentes cosas en venta, desde artesanías indígenas hasta mercancías más tradicionales. A pesar de compartir el nombre del país, los sombreros Panamá son del Ecuador. Estos estaban en venta hace unas semanas en alguna acera del área.

Genuine Panama Hats are manufactured exclusively in Ecuador. They acquired their name after being commercialized in Panama during the construction of the canal in the early 1900’s.
